SK Casemate for 5 cm KwK – Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer – 1/35 Scale.
The model is based on the SK casemate at Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, part of Widerstandsnest 27 in the Juno Beach sector. SK stands for Sonderkonstruktion: a special construction adapted to local conditions.
The casemate sheltered a 5 cm KwK gun on a rotating pedestal mount. A thick concrete wall facing the sea and an overhanging concrete roof protected the gun, while the wide firing opening allowed it to cover the beach in both directions and engage targets inland.
